I drove down to Richmond, VA on 6.15.2020 to see the Robert E. Lee monument in what is likely it’s final state before being removed. It was covered in graffiti and signage after weeks of protest in the city that once served as the capital of the confederacy. Using a small UAV and handheld camera, I photogrammetry scanned the monument and created this mesh. The process also produced high density point clouds and super high resolution orthomosaics of the facades of the monument. The data set used to create the model consisted of 800 + photos.
